The offices in Berlin, Bonn and Magdeburg are working on setting up sustainable partnerships with projects and organisations in a number of countries. We cannot promise you a voluntary service spot abroad, however we can help you with crucial assistance with your applications. Where partnerships already exist or where partnerships are being set up we can raise your chance of receiving a spot.

The office of the ijgd in Berlin can presumably send you to partner organisations in the following countries:

Denmark (presumably 1 spot)

• Our partner in Denmark offers 1 spot in a cultural centre and meeting place for young people.
• The project lies close to Copenhagen. Language skills are not required.
• The project duration is 12 months.

Poland (presumably 2 spots)   

• Our partners in Poland offer spots in kindergartens, facilities for people with disabilities and education facilities.
• The projects are either in a city or in the country side.
• Language skills are not a requirement.
• The project duration is 9-10 months.

Spain (presumably 2 spots)

• Our partners in Spain offer spots in the area of extracurricular educational work with children and youth.
• The projects are in small towns or in the country side.
• A basic knowledge of Spanish is required.
• The project duration is 9-10 months.

Hungary (presumably 3 spots)

• Our partners in Hungary offer spots in kindergartens. The main focus is working with children belonging to the German minority.
• The project is in a small town.
• Language skills are not required, the main languages in the project are German and Hungarian.
• The project duration is 10 months.

We are also working together with partner organisations in various other countries within the European Union and support you in your search for your own project in other European countries.

Estonia (presumably 2 spots)

• Our partner in Estonia offers spots in a children's home and in a home for children with disabilities. More projects are possible.
• The projects are located in Tallinn and in the country side.
• Language skills are not a requirement. Estonian is the language spoken in the project.
• The project duration is 10-12 months.

France (presumably 2 spots)

• Our partners offer spots in a kindergarten and in a cultural and language centre. Further projects are possible.
• The projects are located in Strasbourg and in Cap-d'Ail. Further deployment regions are possible.
• Language skills are sometimes a requirement, French is spoken in the projects.
• The project duration is 10-12 months.

Ireland (presumably 2 spots)

• Our partners offer spots in living communities for people with disabilities.
• The projects are located in rural regions.
• Language skills are sometimes required, English is spoken in the projects.
• The duration of the project is 10-12 months.

Hungary (presumably 2 spots)

• Our partners in Budapest offer spots in various social facilities (such as a daycare facility for children, youth centres, hospitals).
• The projects are located in Budapest and in rural regions.
• Language skills are not a requirement.
• The project duration is 10-12 months.
